Crazy Things

Build yourself a ship from teakwood. Make rooms in it. Coat it with pitch inside and out. Make it 450 feet long, seventy-five feet wide and forty five feet high. Build a roof for it and put in a window eighteen inches from the top; put in a door on the side of the ship; and make three decks, lower, middle and upper.
Genesis 6:14-16

After all this, God tested Abraham. God said, "Abraham!"  "Yes?" answered Abraham. "I'm listening." He said, "Take your dear son Isaac whom you love and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains
that I'll point out to you.
Genesis 22:1-2

".... Joseph, son of David, don't hesitate to get married.
Mary's pregnancy is Spirit-conceived.
God's Holy Spirit has made her pregnant.
Matthew 1:20

Build a giant boat, sacrifice a beloved son, marry a pregnant woman whose child is Spirit-Conceived.... Crazy! How in the world did the Lord come up with these crazy ideas? They were crazy ideas according to the world. But not crazy in the eyes of the Lord, for they were all part of his perfect plan... His Perfectly Wonderful Eternal Plan!  I've been pondering crazy things that the Lord asked of people in the past. What if Noah, Abraham and Joseph would have disobeyed? What if they would have said no? I'm thankful they said yes. Yes to the craziness that the Lord required of them.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

Since His word says He is the same yesterday, today and forever, it seems that He just might ask us do crazy things.... He may just require of us to do something for Him that the world would view as crazy...... What is He asking of me? What is He asking of you?

I have been wondering (and praying) the same things lately. I have an idea, and boy is the world going to say it's nuts. Praying....

2 Cornithians 5:13 says "If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God." I'm all for crazy! Everything he asks of us is for His glory and His purpose, he just asks us to step out in obedience and he is always faithful to take care of the rest!
